Harlot’s Bay Series #2

Libby E-Book and LibroFM Audiobook

Author: Olivia Dade

Narrators: Joy Nash and Stephen Dexter

We are back to Harlot’s Bay and we get Karl’s story with… the Sadie Brazen book’s narrator!

Karl and Molly were high school friends and they almost crossed the line into more. And then she left town.

It had been almost two decades when he suddenly hears her voice coming from someone’s car and they are listening to an audiobook. He immediately buys all the titles (to all his shock and horror he learns all about the monster romance corner of the romance world). He plays them  in the early hours when he’s prepping at his bakery.

When a busybody octogenarian reporter posts on the local newspaper that Karl mysteriously  passed away (the poor man had the flu and missed work a few days), Molly hears the news from Sadie. Inundated with grief for her beloved friend from the past, she heads to the only place she ever felt like home. When she gets there she finds a very alive Karl.

Both of them can’t believe the Universe has given them a second chance, but if the miscommunication came to life, it would be them. They have a shot at forever, but they have to learn to trust and actually use words and say what they are feeling.

The audiobook is narrated by Joy Nash and Stephen Dexter in dual style and they’re just perfect in their roles. Joy is obviously perfectly cast as an audiobook narrator and I don’t think I have ever heard Stephen drop so many F-bombs with such gusto! It’s hilarious!

I am going to be honest. The whole miscommunication thing (though it definitely happens in real life more than we care to admit) annoyed the crap out of me. These two were emotionally stuck in their teens and I kept screaming: TALK TO EACH OTHER!!!! YOU ARE ALMOST 40!

However, all in all, it’s a fun audiobook and I will always support positive plus size representation.
