Thanks, @aljacksonauthor for the ALC/ARC.
It’s always hard to say goodbye to a beloved series and it’s time to part ways with the Sovereign Sanctum boys and the women who captured their hearts. The last one to fall is Cash, the most reluctant one, the recluse, the hacker. The one who doesn’t believe he has any other purpose in life than to atone for his sins. He’s holding the line while all his brothers are falling like flies. Until she shows up, his Little Wallflower. The one he left so his depravity wouldn’t touch her… but now she needs him.
Daisy’s life has been going wrong since forever. The only good things are her memories of her best friend Cash and her kids. She managed to divorce and flee her horrible husband but now she’s sure he’s out to get her. She needs to make sure that her kids will be okay and safe if anything happens to her. So she runs to the only person she has ever trusted completely: Cash. And she has a request he can’t deny.
The audiobook is narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Sean Masters. Sean has the perfect voice for the grumpy, protective, tortured Cash. I would be remiss, though, if I didn’t say that Samantha SHINES in this performance. I lost count of the distinct voices (female, male, kids) that she presents to us and it’s truly awe inspiring. And this is great, gentle listener, because the book is long. Set aside a good chunk of time, they make it worth the listen!
You have the small town vibes, the morally gray/tortured soul hero, the damsel in distress that’s not that helpless, the brotherhood, a marriage of convenience with all the ‘my wife’ moments, it’s always been you, dual timelines, Amy’s signature suspense and and HEA that will take you over the brink of bliss.
I’ll miss the Sovereign Sanctum crew, but I am sure they will pop in again somewhere in the future.
