Thanks, Corinne, for the copies.
When Lark Gatling gets stranded in the rain by the side of the road and her no good boyfriend and her brothers couldn’t care less, she’s rescued by the one person who shouldn’t care: Tristan Stone. That man is off limits. Their families have been feuding since they moved on these roads on horse drawn wagons. But stop he does, one thing leads to another and pretty soon these enemies can’t get enough of each other.
Everyone who reads my musings about books knows my obsession with anything Corinne Michaels writes and in this one I think I overloaded on goodness: single dad, cowboy, small town, enemies to lovers and… they speak with the voices of Vanessa Vasquez and Connor Crais. Be still my heart!
I absolutely loved this sworn enemies to lovers romance! The rivalry between the families is so old that they don’t even know why they’re feuding. They bicker and ‘prank’ each other to the point of getting arrested, so our lovers cans’t really see a future. Plus, Tristan lost the woman who he thought he would grow old with and now the single dad is skittish – and the universe had to go and make him fall for the enemy.
Vanessa and Connor perform this audiobook in duet and, even though it’s the first time I listen to them together, I vote for them to narrate everything paired! Vanessa is perfect as the sassy ‘tornado’ and Connor is swoony as the protective, caring but guarded single dad cowboy. Audio heaven!
What you get: small town gossip, bickering families, a sassy horse trainer, a hot single dad, secret encounters, a lovely pre-teen in love with her horse, chicken coup decor projects, an unexpected culprit, family drama and a heartwarming HEA. 10/10. No notes. But I already knew that before I even started.
Content notes (including but not limited to): loss of a spouse/parent (historical), horseback accident (on and off page) both with serious medical repercussions, elder family member showing early signs of mental decay
