The Kelly Ranch #2

Audiobook gifted by author

Author: Julia Wolf

Narrators: Emma Wilder and Sean Masters

Thanks, @authorjuliawolf for the gifted audiobook.

Phoebe Kelly is living her best life as the owner of Sugar Rush, the local bakery, living in a small apartment in town. Then, a new neighbor moves in. When she sees who it is, he wreaks more havoc than just by breaking the planters. It’s Deacon Slater, her high school crush, the boy from the wrong side of the tracks, fresh out of jail. But Phoebe believes in second chances and in the power of baked goods. If only he hadn’t plainly said ‘no thanks’ to them…

Deke is trying to keep his distance, live a quiet life away from trouble but when a man gets too rough with Phoebe at the bakery, he just can’t let it pass. And he’ll show up to protect her any chance he gets. He also knows that his walls are crumbling down and he’s falling for her as much as she’s falling for him. Too bad his past is showing its ugly head and putting Phoebe in danger.

The audiobook is narrated in duet by Emma Wilder and Sean Masters. Emma’s sweet, melodious voice is perfect for the beautiful and confident baker who’s always willing to see the good in people. Sean is in his element. His deep, resonant voice fits the stoic, tattooed carpenter who can seem to catch a break.

What you get: a strong, confident  curvy baker, a man with a heart of gold who has been dealt a crappy hand all his life, small town goodness, found family, reuniting with family, second chances, all the sugary treats, an unexpected turn of events that leads to real danger and a sweet HEA. All they had to do was hold the line.

I can’t wait for Caleb’s story!

Representation: plus size heroine, severe allergy rep (nuts)

Content notes (including but not limited to): child abandonment and neglect, abusive/toxic family members, discussions on being incarcerated, gun violence, kidnapping, violent death on page
