We are back in Spunes and boy, I wasn’t ready! 

Bea and Merritt were best friends, thick as thieves since they were young. They got to, as Merritt said, ‘be girls together’. So, when Merritt dies of cancer at a young age and leaves the unexpected inheritance of her frozen eggs and a bucket list to Bea, Bea doesn’t think twice – she’s fulfilling the list, carrying Merritt’s baby and keeping her legacy alive. Maybe, just maybe, Merritt inadvertently brought them together as they should have always been.

Be still my heart! I wasn’t prepared to be so swept away and  so devastated by Bea and Silas!  It is, first and foremost, a romance that deals with grief – of losing a best friend, of losing an identity and even the prospect of losing the love of your life. 

The audiobook is performed in dual style by Samantha Brentmoor and Adam Gold. Samantha will take you on a journey with her with her raw, heartfelt performance. Adam doesn’t narrate as many chapters as Samantha but he manages to give you a warm, completely and irrevocably enamored Silas and make you fall for the dedicated firefighter and steadfast friend yearning for the girl. The two of them make narration magic. 

What you get: a second chance romance you root for from the get-go,  finding your path and healing from enormous losses, so much yearning, found family, all the Byrds, bucket lists, welcoming a cat (who cares if you’re allergic?), dual timelines, new beginnings and a love to last a lifetime. 

Side note: brace yourself for the epilogue. It obliterated me.
