Cormac and Zara were joined at the hip when they were kids. They were best friends and everyone thought they’d end up together. Things change when they go to college and she ends up dating his roommate. They slowly drifted apart and it all ended the she overheard Carmac trying to convince her fiancé not to marry her the night before the wedding! (The fact that she was questioning her decision to marry him didn’t cross her mind…) 

Now, three years have passed and  Zara is divorced and back at the Kelly Ranch to work as a nature tour guide for the summer. 

Will the once besties resolve whatever tore them apart and will Carmac finally get they only woman he ever cared about?

The audiobook is narrated by the same duo that has been narrating the whole series: Emma Wilder and Sean Masters. Emma is lovely as the detemined and a little stubborn Zara. Sean’s deep and warm voice suits Cormac to a T. A man whose heart has been shattered by missing his chance with his best girl and who can now try again – fully aware that his heart might be broken once more. 

What you get: small town romance, childhood friends to enemies to lovers, second chances, lost of yearning and a lovely HEA. You also catch up with all the Kellys from the previous books. 

There is a touch of suspense/mystery in the story that feels unnecessary for me. I would have been totally okay without the ‘other woman’ shenanigans and ex-husband drama. 

Content notes (including but not limited to): manipulative ex-husband, gaslighting. A secondary character creates a situation that leads one of the MCs to be in mortal danger
