Mira and Hartley were always meant to be but Hartley is pretty much set in Sugar Creek, where they grew up, and Mira just can’t stay. There are too many memories of the parents she has lost.
But when her grandmother summons her back to Sugar Creek, she needs to go see what’s what. Plus, she’s having to find a place for her rescue pig, Pigasso, long story, and Hartley has a ranch. (best pig name ever! )
When she arrives, her grandmother has a proposition: she gets married to Hartley, stay married for a year and then they keep the land and Hartley achieves the dream of bringing back his family land that was sold in the past to his ranch.
Well, it’s not like they dislike each other, au contraire, if you catch my drift. They can do this for a year, right?
The audiobook is narrated dual style by two new narrators to me: Sadie Provost and Scott Rose. I’m always happy to find new voices and they certainly did an amazing job.
I loved Hartley when she showed up in previous books: he’s swoony, the greenest of flags and so so sweet and so in love with Mira. We understand Mira’s need to leave Sugar Creek and we love that Lolly – the meddling grandmother – knows that all she needs to do is give Mira a little push so that she sees where true happiness really lies.
I loved how the whole town goes, “Finally!!!” when they announce they’re getting married!
What you get: a pining hero, childhood friends turned into friends with benefits then ‘forced’t marry, a meddling grandma, a supportive sister, found family, a pig with the cleverest name and a sweet HEA.
I loved catching up with everyone too! And Beg Me, the new one in the series, is out!
