Maisie Bennett is determined to keep this first date. Who cares if the world is literally crapping their pants?! This might be the last chance she has to FINALLY get laid before the planet gets hit with Pandemic 2.0! Plus, this prospect is a handsome, stubbly-jawed professor. She didn’t live the first twenty years of her life in reclusion, spent the next ten trying to reintegrate into society after being raised by a paranoid pepper to get stuck at home … AGAIN. Still a virgin!!

Dr. Everett Greer is down in the dumps since his wife passed away. He has no idea that his best friend has been basically catfishing some poor girl on a dating app on his behalf and he now feels awful to just leave her hanging.

What could go wrong? Well, EVERYTHING because not only people are dropping like flies but the dead are coming back as, wait for it… ZOMBIES!

The two of them are now stuck in a road trip from hell with Everett’s cat, Chicken, trying to reach a safe place and a prepper friend and figuring out what the heck is really going on.

I absolutely loved this book! I feel in love with the clueless (but a zombie movie expert) Everett, with Maisie, who just can’t seem to catch a break , with Gramps, with Chicken, with the Colonels… You have to have fun when the world is ending and these two find a way to have some “lessons” during the apocalypse! Sweet and spicy lessons!

All this comes with a very clever commentary on how we are turning ourselves into zombies whether by our apathy or our lack of respect for what we do to our bodies and even what is considered food. Amazing read!

As an audio girlie, I had to get the audio version and it’s top tier! Narrated in duet by Hathaway Lee and PJ Hammock (I love this pseudo!!) and they are absolutely phenomenal! If audio is your jam, I highly recommend it! You will love it!

Content notes (including but not limited to): all the “fun” stuff related to a zombie apocalypse plus a mentions of loss of spouse, loss of parent, grief, living as a prepare and in isolation from the world.
