Author: Sierra Simone

Priest Book 1.5

Audiobook, Audible

Narrators: Jacob Morgan and Elena Wolfe

This is definitely not a standalone  book and you should read Priest before.

For my review of Priest , go here

Poppy and Tyler have reached their happily ever after at the end of Priest. They have been married for three years, Poppy’s foundation is a success and Tyler is working on his PhD. Seems idyllic, right? Well, life is not like that. Tyler was in a crisis of vocation in book 1 and now he is a crisis of identity.  He has no idea who Tyler Bell is now that he no longer is a priest.

This is a beautiful novella. Sometimes we are happy with the  “happily ever after” when we read a book, but this was a much needed continuation of their story. NO ONE can go through so many life defining moments in their life like Tyler did and not have a hard time adjusting.

This is a hard read. They are not in a happy place, but they do love each other immensely and, like in the real world, happily ever after is always “under construction”. Poppy and Tyler go through an immense loss together and it’s heartbreaking, but I loved the way Sierra Simone handled it. (There is an author’s note at the end explaining and it makes a lot of sense).

Definitely recommend if you liked Priest. Again, if you have those pearls around your neck ready to be clutched: STAY AWAY. All the steam and the taboo from Priest are pretty much present here too.

Narration: Again, we have Jacob Morgan as Tyler Bell. I won’t repeat myself. He’s gold. We have Elena Wolfe narrating the epilogue only, but it is a great to have Poppy’s perspective telling us where they stand at the moment. Elena rocks as usual.

Read below for trigger warnings, but it is spoilerish:
