Lillian Mahoney has built her lifestyle tv show and empire from the ground up. She has completely made it her life. Unfortunately, a gigantic portion of its success is due to its host, Niles Sharpe. Niles is basically the Milli Vanilli of show hosts and it’s a nightmare to make him keep up with his duties. One day on a live show, everything goes to crap, he unfairly blames her for the screw up on camera and we all know that there are phones recording everything everywhere these days. To cool things down, Lillian’s sister sends her packing to a forced vacation in a cottage she had bought sight-unseen as an investment in the teeny tiny town of Blink, Maine.

Her journey and arrival there are just short of a complete catastrophe: her wallet is stolen, her car runs out of gas as soon as she arrives and she’s wearing her NYC-business-woman attire, complete with impossibly high heels. To top it all up, she managed to (and she can’t figure out how) piss off the town’s resident hunk, Caleb Wright, single father of 16-year-old Bethany. But first impressions are frequently wrong and neither Caleb nor the town are what Lillian was expecting. Blink , Maine – population 204 just might have to update the sign to 205.

This is a small town, feel-good romance indeed. The dying little town and its quirky and lovable residents just beg you to fall in love with Blink and everyone in it.

Everything that happens is a little “Hallmark-y” but those movies are hugely successful for a reason. You really want Caleb and Lillian to find a way to each other.

With the rejuvenation of the town, I really hope we get to see what happens to the other residents in future books.

Side note: If you are looking for sweet, you found it. If you are looking for steam, this is as closed door as it gets. Shut tight and boarded up. 😉 It was still fun though!
