Author: Casey McQuiston

Alex Claremont-Diaz is the son of the first female President of the United States (elected right after Obama and there was no #45 in this world, thank the heavens. Gone, poof!) and he’s practically American royalty. He’s a PR dream come true: handsome, intelligent, funny… a media darling.

Speaking of royalty, Alex has a major beef with actual royalty – Henry, Prince of Wales, who he just can’t even. When a silly altercation between the two of them ends causing a major faux pas at the royal wedding, Alex and Henry have to fake friendship for the press to avoid an international PR nightmare.

As they are forced into doing things together, they end up seeing they are more alike than they thought. Soon they find find themselves friends and then it turns, to Alex’s surprise, into a romance. But it’s the middle of the Presidential reelection campaign and Henry is bound to centuries of royal duties and traditions. They are meant to be… but is the world ready for them?

OMG, why oh why didn’t I pick this one sooner from my TBR??? This book is everything I wanted in this day and age! I want to live in this world!

I loved how Alex brings Henry out of his stuffy, polished shell and how Henry grounds Alex. They’re sweet apart and absolutely adorable together. Their email exchanges are gold! The quotes! *swoon*

This book made me hopeful and sad at the same time. Sad because I don’t live in this world and hopeful that the next generation does better than us and makes it real.

Loved, loved, loved it! Every single character, the politics, the shenanigans, the emails, the moms… everything!

If you haven’t yet, go fall in love with Alex and Henry!

Possibles triggers and rep: queer phobia, characters being forced into pretending they are something they are not, grief / MMC is bisexual, MMC is gay, other characters are presented as queer
