The Walsh Family #3

KU ebook, Anyplay Audiobook

Author: Kate Canterbary

Narrators: Lucy Rivers and Christian Fox

Sam Walsh is an architect extraordinaire. Lauded by his peers, he’s achieved professional stardom and struts around town as the ultimate player. All that hides extreme insecurity from originated from being born with several health issues that led him to be “affectionally” called by his family as “The Runt”. The neurotic germaphobe is hidden under the “man about town” persona.

Meet cute: when Sam is waiting for his sister to check out a property they might want to buy, he’s stuck in a malfunctioning elevator after a power outage with a fascinating yet irritating creature – Tiel Desai. She won’t stop fidgeting and humming and that’s definitely going to drive him insane. But they’re stuck for 8 hours and Sam’s diabetes will have him vulnerable in front of this woman, and the kindness she shows him is irresistible. He’s beautiful, troubled, tattooed. She’s wildly independent, willful and aloof. And they can’t stay away from each other.

I loved Sam from book 1 – the “runt” (I don’t like that word…) of the family, he’s been through hell with their evil father and it’s only fitting that he has a lot of issues. His manwhoring ways can definitely be explained by the way he’d been treated and all his medical issues can definitely take a toll.

Tiel is a feisty heroine. She’s fun and we can see where she’s coming from but the girl really needs to solve her family issues. All her actions are stemmed from the way her family treats her. Thank God for Ellie, her best friend, who knocks some sense into her when needed.

It’s a great Walsh Family book. Sometimes you want to smack both the H and the h but that makes things interesting.

Side note: Magnolia Santillian is introduced to us here.
