In a world where humans and vampires have come to a peaceful coexistence, we meet Haruka Hirano, a a Japanese purebred vampire who’s been shying away from everything having to do with his place in the archaic vampire aristocratic way of living. He’s been hurt and broken and sort of hiding away in England. When Haruka is asked to preside a “bonding ceremony” with the help of another purebred, he’s not really ready for Nino, the beautiful Italian – warm, pure, innocent and also averse to vampire aristocracy. Nino gives Haruka hope that there is still life to be lived and changes everything in his life.

I loooooved Haruka and Nino! I was completely surprised to read about two of the sweetest cinnamon roll heroes you can find and they are both vampires! I don’t know which one is more swoony!

I would categorize this as part 1 of a duet. Though you could consider this ending in an HEA, Haruka and Nino’s story does continue in book 2 (The Vanishing) , where they go on with their research for the book “Lore and Lust”  and will probably get into a lot more trouble. 

Loved it!

(Side note: why does the “villain” have to be Brazilian?! *sigh* and *rolleyes* )
