Stay A Spell #5

e-ARC provided by author

Author: Juliette Cros

When Jules Savoie ended her relationship with Ruben Dubois twelve years ago, she knew she was sacrificing her heart for the greater good. She was newly appointed as the Enforcer for the Guild and her relationship with the vampire overlord was jeopardizing her new role so sacrifices had to be made. But twelve years have passed and the feelings are still there.

On his side, when Ruben sees Juliana at her sister’s wedding, getting married to his best friend, he’s had enough. “Time’s up, Juliana.” He knows there is no else for him and he’ll use their time together on their trips working side by side defending the werewolf cause to make her see they belong together. Time is definitely up.

However, dark forces are at play to keep them apart. Will their love be strong enough to keep them together?

I am kinda speechless. I know by now what to expect from Juliette and this book hit all the spots for me while at the same time surprising me with every step! I had been keeping an eye on Jules and Ruben since book 1 and this book is the culmination all of that “book edging” we’ve had for five books!!!! These two have been pining for each other and I was thrilled to finally see them find their way back to each other!

I love second chance romances but they’re the hardest to write – it’s either that dreaded miscommunication plot or something I find the couple can’t really recover from. Juliette dealt with it perfectly! They may be old in human years but they had some growing up to do. It’s these two new people that are finally perfect for each other.

If you love a pining hero, you get one and it’s mutual! So good! And the steam , oh the steam! But what warmed my heart was the LOVE. You get ALL THE FEELS!

As always, the Savoies and their partners make appearances and I want to be friends with all of them and babysit the triplets! I am devastated that there is only one book left. I don’t want to say good-bye… I want to “stay a spell”. 😉

Possible triggers: misogyny, violence, blood/gore, kidnapping, forced drinking by a vampire, life threatening injuries
