Everything in Ellie Oliver’s life has gone to crap since last Christmas. At that time, she had the her dream job at an animation studio, she was living the life in Portland and she met THE perfect woman in a bookstore on Christmas Eve, But when Christmas morning came, her dreams were shattered and her life just went down to the dumps. She lost her job and now works as a barista to keep paying her in her basement apartment. The woman, Jack, has never left her mind. When Andrew, the coffee shop’s landlord, comes to her with a proposal (literally!!), it could be the solution to all her problems. They’ll “fake marry” for a year, he’ll get his inheritance, and she’ll be out of debt. However, everything definitely goes to crap when he introduces her to his family. The woman of her dreams, who broke her heart into a million pieces? She’s Andrew’s sister.

What a sweet (but also quite angsty) rom com. I loved Ellie! She has to overcome so so many fears and deal with so much anxiety to finally be able to love herself and then embrace Love.

Andrew’s family is a hoot, Jack is sweet and sexy, the romance is swoony and you’ll laugh and get teary-eyed sometimes.

Very sweet at times, with a dash of spice. Very entertaining!

Rep and possible triggers: queer romance. Queer, bi, non-binary rep. Toxic relationship with parents.
