Miles Thorn is in a major pickle: he needs a cat sitter ASAP. His mom is in the hospital and he works as a team analyst for an NHL team and traveling is part of his job. He is definitely a dog person and he has no idea of what to do with Prince Francis, his mother’s mischievous Sphinx.

Enter Kitty Hart, “The Kitty Whisperer”. Yup, she only realized her innuendo-inducing choice of name after her business (and brand) had already taken off and she had been established as “the” cat whisperer/sitter/trainer. She is even some sort of personality amongst the animal lovers world. She loves all felines and she decides to check if Miles is a potential new client. After a most embarrassing meet cute (for both), she takes Prince Francis into her roster. Allergy flare-ups, cat hijinks, and a lot of “verbal vomiting” and soon we can see they are made for each other! If only Prince Francis will allow it…

This was a fun and cute book! It’s low on the steam level but high on the sweet moments. Thought it is definitely a very funny book, it still deals with heavy subjects such as grief and dealing with an ailing parent. It’s all dealt with a light touch and a lot of respect.

It’s a feel-good book, perfect for a lazy summer afternoon when all you want is a smile on your face.

Possible triggers: death of a parent (historical), dealing with a parent with early onset dementia.
