The Boudreaux 1.5

Audible audiobook

Author: Kristen Proby

Narrators: Jennifer Mack and Eric Michael Summerer

In this crossover between the With Me In Seattle series and The Boudreaux series, we follow Lila Bailey (Kate’s best friend from book 1) who’s recently moved to the Big Easy. She’s led a hard life and she’s had to fight for everything that she has. She’s usually ultra responsible, with her only “transgression” being a one night stand with a man she met on a plane and then again in New Orleans at a bar. It seemed like kismet.

She’s a professor at Tulane now and putting down roots in this new city with her friend Kate to help her. To her horror, a serial killer is attacking her students. When the detective assigned to the case comes to interview her, she’s shocked to see that it’s Asher, the man who made her toes curl last year.

Asher moved to New Orleans in an attempt to have a fresh start for him and his little girl after the tragic loss of his wife years ago. He’s pleasantly surprised to see Lila, the woman who haunted his dreams. And she’s in danger.

This is a short audiobook but it packs a punch. It’s definitely not very suspense-y or mysterious (you can tell who the killer is from the very beginning) but the romance is fun.

Nice narration by Jennifer Mack and Eric Michael Summerer.

Possible triggers: loss of spouse (off page), violence, graphic description of a crime scene, kidnapping, torture
