You get two talented master bakers (yes, I know what I did there), add a quirky small town, a brother’s best friend, a teenage crush that never went away, a dash of fake dating and lobster racing (!) and you get a warm, gooey, moan inducing book!

Claire has been in love with Grady Barber, her brother’s best friend, since, well, forever. It doesn’t really matter if he left Beacon Harbor to pursue (and achieve) his dreams of success. Claire is also pursuing her dream of having a bakery in her beloved town. She’s stressed, overworked and broke but is kind of content with how her life is going… until a relatively scary family emergency brings him back to Beacon Harbor. The billionaire is back.

Grady has achieved his dreams. He’s on the verge of yet another achievement (an important merger) when a call from his mom has him rushing back to Beacon Harbor. Suddenly, he’s back into the town’s zaniness, with his dad trying to avoid a diet at all costs, his brother training lobsters (you read right) and HER. Little Sweeney. His best friend’s little sister, who was his teenage dream is now a woman capable of driving the man he became out of his ever loving mind. Talk about temptation… He’s back in town, but could he ever leave all he’s worked for and just.. stay?

It’s public knowledge how I absolutely adore everything these two write. This book is no exception and it might just be my favorite yet. Even though it has a lot of tropes, they are all fresh! Even that dreaded third act conflict I am ALWAYS annoyed by is very organic and even expected.

As always, we don’t fall in love just with the couple. There’s a crotchety, 900-year-old cookie lover carmudgeon, there’s the amazing best friend (and worst employee EVER), the brothers, the parents, the mayor, the town. I fell in love with Grady and I am obsessed with Beacon Harbor!

Bonus points: chapter titles, vibrator settings, and the names of lobsters and certain world renowned bakers. I cackled. LOUD.

Narration:I just knew that Samantha Brentmoor saying words written by this duo would be amazing. I wasn’t expecting to be this wowed. I should have, though. And Connor is… well, Connor. SIGH. A million stars.
