Christopher is part of a well-known hockey family. He’s learned from his family to love the game and to make his team family too. He does that and his teammate Benji is his best friend.  Benji’s been acting strange, but, as we often do, we always think we will have time to deal with things. So does Christopher. So, when they lose Benji, he’s devastated for several reasons, including guilt. But he’s a loyal man and he steps up for Koda, Rain and Luna – Benji’s family.

Dakota’s life changed slowly from fairytale life with her hockey player husband and her adorable little girls to a heartbreaking life of deceit, disappointment and lies. When Benji dies, she lashes out at Christopher. How could he not see what was going on? But Christopher won’t F-off like she tells him to. He’ll be there as her friend and, most of all, as Uncle Chrissy.

As time passes, Christopher starts seeing Koda as a woman, a beautiful, caring and fierce woman and he is starting to feel things he’s not supposed to. Add those little girls who win his heart with every little thing that they do and he’s a goner. Can he live with the guilt of wanting his dead best friend’s life?

Narrated dual style by Savannah Peachwood and Connor Crais, this audiobook hit me in all the feels!  Savannah’s portrayal of the lioness who’s put in such a vulnerable state is beautiful. Connor will melt your heart as the man who’s loyal. caring , dependable and completely dumbfounded by finding himself in love with best friend’s girls. And both of them rock as the adorable little girls!

What a lovely story of a loyal and supportive partner, a fierce , courageous woman who will do anything for her kids, a wonderful meddling family, daddy-daughter dances, skating lessons, family vacations, and most of all, of opening your heart to love again. I loved it!

Thanks, Natasha, for letting me meet these characters early!
