Cherry Peak #3

Ah, Johnny… Swoon… When we first met him, he was the sunshiny cowboy determined to be Garrison’s best friend. So, I wasn’t surprised when his determination to win Rory over made him into prime book boyfriend material.

Rory is kind of a little brash. A “fuck around and find out” vibe guarding her secrets and her heart. She’s not supposed to stay long in Cherry Peak, let alone fall for the golden retriever of a cowboy and put on his hat. IYKYK

Oh my stars. This, like the other books in this series, has its own pace. This had to be a slow burn, a quiet and steady race to the HEA these two were meant to find. You’d think Johnny would be annoying and pushy, being young and eager, but he proves to be just perfect for the skittish Rory. I loved that he is… THERE. Always. Unapologetically but unobtrusively so. Swoon.

Narrated dual style by Amy Hall and Alex Knox. Amy hits the perfect tone for Rory – a little brash but with an underlying vulnerability. It’s my first time listening to Alex Knox and I’m sure it won’t be my last. He gave Johnny a sweet and subtle country drawl that’s just right for the young cowboy.

If you like a good small town romance, a touch of family drama, He Falls First, found family, true friendships, knowing your partner’s coffee order, learning to ride a horse and finding your forever love, this one is for you.

Thanks, Hannah, Must Love Audio and Lyric Audiobooks for taking me back to Cherry Peak early.
