We’re back with the three witches and their coven trying to save Hallows End from perishing forever. Now, the Evil is targeting Breena, the hearth witch. Breena is the sweet, loving one. She was totally mortified in the last book when Lorelei spilled the beans publicly about her crush/infatuation with Giles, which rendered him stunned. Not because he’s not interested, on the contrary, but because he had no clue that Breena had the same feelings for him he had for her. But their lives, the lives of the coven and the inhabitants of Hallows End is at stake because the Evil entity they thought they had shunned is back full force. 

This is pretty much a book 2 in a series. A lot of development for the bigger story arc happens but all that will only be solved in the last book. 

Giles and Breena’s romance is sweet. I was definitely rooting for her ever since we notice her throwing furtive glances towards the jeweler/crystal shop owner. I loved that they were thrown together “for safety” which makes them figure things out. They’re just a lovely couple!

The Evil is pretty much still alive, just recharging and ready to kill them all. I can’t wait for the showdown on book 3.

The audiobook is narrated again by Samantha Brentmoor and Sebastian York. I love how Samantha gives each witch a completely different voice and vibe. Her Breena is perfect: sweet, loving and passionate. Sebastian York is great too, especially when he’s portraying the possessed folk! lol
