Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and I think it is one of the hardest to write well because I always question why they were not together from the start. Willow created the perfect scenario here and you root for them to finally become what they were always meant to be. Their journey is not easy. Ellle comes from a religious family who is not happy with her being a cheerleader (and they’re in for an even bigger surprise!) and Rhodes’ road to fatherhood was rocky with deceit, but they navigate it all as a couple together. 

The audiobook is a gem. Narrated dual style by Angelina Rocca, whose sultry and melodious voice suits Elle perfectly, and Sean Crisden, who gives us a cocky, loving and protective Rhodes. They both convey the “it’s always been you” longing that makes this romance so special.

There is drama and tension, especially with Elle’s meddling parents and Rhodes’ manipulative baby mama, but there are also wonderful moments that show these two can face anything together.
