I am always amazed as to how Lauren Rowe can, in a short novella, create characters you fall in love with and root for.

Kaylee is a very confident, assertive 20-year-old and she just  won’t miss the opportunity to spend the night with her brother’s friend, Ben, an Aussie who’s about to go home. They are in a camping trip and she passes him a note. “Come meet me in my tent.” And he does.

Ben wasn’t even going on this camping trip until Carter mentioned that his sister decided to go on the last minute. He can’t believe the woman of his dreams has just passed him a note with an offer he can’t refuse.

They spend the night together and it was special for both of them, but Kaylee is not a relationship girl and she won’t even give him her number.

Fast forward seven years and now Ben has just moved to LA for a job. He sends Kaylee a message, asking her for pointers about LA living. They decide to meet that night at a bar for drinks. Neither one has forgotten that special night … It’s been seven years but the magic is still there.

It’s so good! The audiobook is shorter than two hours and in that amount of time you get invested in their romance and really want them to be together. Kaylee is a woman who goes after what she wants but she’s a little skittish. Ben is the stuff book boyfriends are made of!

Vanessa Edwin narrates this solo and it’s lovely. Her Aussie accent is adorable! Amazing listen!

A short, sweet and spicy audiobook that I highly recommend for a lazy afternoon when you want to believe that true love exists!
