Boston Revs Three Outs #2

ALC provided by Must Love Audio

Author: Jenni Bara

Narrators: Victoria Connoly and Oscar Reyes

When Gianna Damiano’s boyfriend cheats on her and leaves her homeless, her brother tells her she can stay at his apartment since he’s never there anymore anyway. One pesky thing: she’ll have to share it with his best friend, roommate and teammate, Emerson Knight.

Emerson has had an eye on Gianna forever but the bro code won’t let him even think about pursuing her. That’s not the only reason, though – Emerson has a very low view of himself. He made himself the classic clown, the “easy one” who never causes trouble and has accepted his role as “second grade” in life, no one’s priority. But no one sees him like that and Gianna soon finds out that he’s so much more than meets the eye.

Both of them have insecurities, Gianna’s insecurities being rooted on being plus size and mostly coming from a (let’s face it) emotionally abusive relationship. When they pair up to fake date for an event, everything clicks. They have to trust that nothing about this is fake or temporary.

I love a black cat/golden retriever story and this one is chef’s kiss! Emerson is top tier, top shelf, gold medal boyfriend material and the swoon is there! Oh yeah…

The audiobook is narrated duet style by Victoria Connoly and Oscar Reyes. Victoria gives sassy yet vulnerable Gianna a warm touch. Now, getting Oscar Reyes to play Emerson was a sweet baby jay zoos moment. His warm, soft spoken voice is the embodiment of the cinnamon roll that is Emerson. One “mariposa” and you are done, I tell you, DONE. *fansherself*

I love going back to the Revs – the text messages, the feeling of found family and they show up big time in this one. They even got me teary-eyed at the end.

Thanks, Jenni and Must Love Audio for the audiobook. I had blast! Home run!
