Ava is a recently divorced, former barrel racer and mom of a three year old spitfire of a little girl. She’s just found her dream job training the next generation of barrel racers and the last thing she wants on her bingo card is a man. But… she’s not writing off a fun, no strings attached one night stand she literally stumbles into while out with her sisters. C’mon, he’s the hottest cowboy ever, she deserves some fun and the backwards hat… oh yeah.
Sawyer is there at the honky tonk but he can’t stop thinking about his baby girl, Ella. His brothers basically dragged him there for their boys night now and he can’t believe his luck when the most gorgeous woman in the world slams into him and he drenches her in beer. Well, he’s a gentleman and right thing to do is offer her a replacement drink and ask her to dance. Once dance leads to another and the blonde is bringing out his wild side. Hey, it’s one night. They might as well let loose.
To much of their surprise, a few months later, at a barn raising event, there she is. Luck would have it, she is the new hire at the ranch where his future sister in law is the training program vet. They never expected to meet again, but why not give a try at least to friendship when they hit it off so monumentally?
I LOVED this one! I’m in love with the whole series, but this one is very sweet while scorching your Kindle. Sawyer is top tier, first class, green flags all the way boyfriend material. The way he “gets” Ava is beautiful. Ava’s need for independence is so relatable and she also understands that it does take a village. They complement each other, they are not each other’s other half. Lovely.
I loved how Jessica went a little bit “unconventional” with their HEA. You get the perfect one, as it pretty much respects who they are and it was very refreshing.
I also adore how this family just steps up and shows up. Also, I grin at how endearing these big, sexy cowboys are when they get into “their being feelings” and aren’t afraid to show it.
Sawyer was a joy to read!
