Thanks, @simonmaverickaudio for the audiobook.

Avery Fox’s life changed completely when she almost lost her life in an accident that took her father’s life. It’s been ten years and she’s trying to live her life pleasing everyone… until the façade cracks and she ends up leaving her boyfriend and going to live with her brother and his bandmates. Their band, which they formed in high school, is starting to go big and living in a rockstars’ house isn’t exactly perfect environment for a med student. Plus, her brother’s best friend, her nemesis and also frontman of A Quiet Peril lives there too.

Liam is not happy with this new arrangement. “Little Fox” coming to live with them is torture. He’s been wanting his best friend’s little sister since forever, but he will never betray his best friend.

So many secrets, so many traumas and living together will bring everything that she thought she left in the water when that car fell off the bridge is coming to the surface.

This angsty rockstar audiobook is narrated dual style by Andi Eloise and Brandon Francis. It’s my first time listening to both and I really enjoyed their performances. Andi gives us an emotionally drained but determined and passionate Avery. Brandon embodies the rockstar really well, bringing to Liam the swagger of a budding rockstar in his voice while also showing how conflicted he is.

This is book one in a series and I really hope we revisit the characters as there was so much to unpack since Avery’s trauma is pretty much her brother’s too.

If you are a fan of the rockstar, brother’s best friend, enemies to lovers, he falls first and it’s always been you tropes, dive right in.

Content notes: death of parent in car accident, toxic relationship with a parent. Mentions of mental health issues, suicidal ideation, drug use and overdose.
