The Vancouver Agitators Series #3

Audible audiobook

Author: Meghan Quinn

Narrators: Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke

When Ollie runs into her ex at a bar, it’s already awkward… but when said ex is now dating her nemesis from hell, it gets nightmarish. So, when the mean girl teases Ollie for being there alone, she grabs the first man she sees and plants a whopper of a kiss on him and says “play along, you are my boyfriend”.

Well, he does play along, but she had no idea that she just smooched with Silas Taters from the Vancouver Agitators. And things get really complicated when he says “You owe me.”

That’s how she finds herself in a fake relationship with a professional hockey player, ten years older and hotter than sin. She helps him fend off his ex’s advances, he helps her with bringing her sandwiches, opening his home gym for  her and his giving her his full attention. Nothing will go wrong. They have an binding agreement – who cares it’s written on a napkin… Right?

OMG! We all know that Meghan Quinn can bring the fun, the banter and the steam, but this one is just so so so freaking good! We are back with the Agitators and we find out why Silas is McGrumpy and it’s a doozy. Ollie is so fun and so unfiltered it’s adorable and cringey at times!

The “no wh0rehovse” deal is a hoot and we all know that that is going to go up in flames very soon. Silas takes a while to crumble but when he does…OOOOOF. And he comes with certain body “embellishments”… IYKYK.

It’s hard to make me LOL but I definitely did with this one! Donkey pervert for the win!

I have one teeny weeny bone to pick and that’s the infamous third act break up. Ollie got a half a page of groveling and she needed way more than that imho, but it’s how romance novels go… so yeah.

Now, I would be remiss if I didn’t say that what killed it in this book is the NARRATION. We all know that Jason Clarke can do growly, grumpy, swoony and he delivers. Oh he delivers! But, the MVP here is Stella Hunter. She is a hoot as Ollie and also nails it as Candace and Sarah. What a performance! She had me cackling at times and teary-eyed in the end. PERFECTION!
