Sparrow Falls #2

ARC and ALC provided by author

Author: Catherine Cowles

Narrators: Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton

Oh my stars! I love Catherine Cowles and it’s no secret, but she keeps making me love her more with her “murdery” books! We met Shep and Thea in book 1 and it was obvious that Thea was on the run: skittish, no phones, no car, no tech. And we knew she’d need a hero able to approach her with a delicate touch. Shep is all that and more.

When a pipe bursts in her place, Thea has to cave and hire someone to fix it. Rho immediately tells her Shep will do it, but Thea is terrified of letting anyone in her home for reasons we learn in the heartbreaking prologue. Shep respects her fears and with little sweet acts of service he gains her trust and their relationship develops in a slow burn – as it should be – and it turns into something beautiful and solid.

As in all Catherine’s small towns, Sparrow Falls has its dangers. Soon, Thea starts getting messages and things start happening to make her feel her past may finally have caught up with her. As expected, the Colsons band together to protect her.

The audiobook is narrated in dual style by Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton. Savannah gives you a perfect performance as the vulnerable, scared but determined Thea. There is no one better to portray a golden retriever hero than Teddy. His Shep is spot on – caring, loyal,  patient, sweet and overall swoony. All the stars!

An audiobook for lovers of small towns, tight family bonds not forged by blood, a heroine who will defend her new life with all her heart, porch dates and good touch of suspense with twists and turns. Lovely as always!

Thank you, Catherine, for inviting me back to Sparrow Falls  early.
