The Boudreaux Family #3

Audible audiobook

Author: Kristen Proby

Narrators: Rachel Fulginiti and Sebastian York

Callie Mills had no intention of returning to New Orleans but when her life imploded, with her being dumped and laid off (by the same man), she decides to take a look at the run down bar her father left her. She had no plans to stay, but she has nothing to go back to in Denver, so she she might as well put her managerial skills to use for her own profit and make The Odyssey a place she doesn’t resent but is proud of.

Declan Boudreaux is a super talented musician and he’s been bringing the crowds to The Odyssey. His music is known to pack the place, and his charm also helps. He didn’t expect to be knocked on his ass by the new owner – a blonde knockout of a woman, with tattoo sleeves and an attitude.

When renovations on the bar start and Declan gets closer to Callie, she might find all the reasons to stay.

My favorite in the series so far, this one is super romantic. Callie is the badass, I- don’t-need-anyone heroine and Declan is the sweet, romantic artist who will crack her shell.

Once more, we take a few rounds around the Big Easy and we also catch up with some of the Boudreaux siblings.

Narration: Again, as it’s the norm for this series, narration doesn’t match and it can throw you off, as Rachel Fulginiti gives the characters a strong accent and it doesn’t happen with Sebastian York takes over.

Possible triggers: mentions of (off page/historical) alcoholism, grief, cutting, and self-harm used as a coping mechanism
