Ryan Wild came back to Bitterroot Valley a billionaire. Now, he’s also a single father to a teenage boy he adopted and who’s only brought joy to his life. Life is pretty good. The only thing missing in his life is Polly. His best friend’s sister. They had a epic one night stand a few months back and she is treating it like it was no big deal.

Well, it WAS a big deal for Polly, but she assumed that Ryan was not interested in anything more, seeing that he is now a single dad and he has an empire to run.

When they realize they have both been wanting the same thing, they decide to date and see how it is. Jake, Ryan’s son, couldn’t be happier. They start dating, he takes her on the vacation of her dreams… but strange things start happening and it seems that someone doesn’t want them together.

I love a single dad romance and the bond between Ryan and Jake is beautiful. Polly understands and respects that and it’s lovely to see her fall for the boy too. The truly become a “found family” for Jake.

Though we get a touch of suspense, this is pretty much a low angst romance in which people who are meant to be together just need to navigate the hurdles to make it possible. I love that Polly is independent and doesn’t care at all for Ryan’s wealth but she does care for his kid. In the same vein, it is so touching how the Wilds embrace Jake as their own.

Narrated dual style by two favorites, Maxine Mitchell and Jason Clarke, who embody their characters with perfection. They ‘re also amazing portraying the several other characters, including many children. A must listen!

If you love a brother’s best friend’s story where the brother actually behaves like an adult, a single dad that adores his kid, a family that steps up when needed, pick this one up!

Thanks, @mustloveaudio and Kristen Proby for the advance listen!

Content notes: mentions of child abuse and living in foster care (historical), stalker-ish behavior, car accident on page, death of a beloved animal
