Divorced Men’s Club #1
Kindle, KU
Author: Saxon James
Payne is 40 years old and starting over. He’s recently found out that his husband of ten years has been cheating on him…on camera! For anyone who wants to see! Doing things whenever wanted to do with him no less… So, he packs up his things and heads up to his hometown newly divorced, broke, jobless and with no place to live. When his little brother’s best friend offers him his spare room in exchange for household chores, he swallows his pride and takes the offer.
Beau is a successful writer. He writes action packed fantasy books with a dash of MM romance. He’s naturally chaotic, forgets dates, doesn’t keep normal hours and is what would be conventionally called plain “weird”. He’s also harbored a gigantic crush on his best friend’s brother since he was a teenager and there is no way in hell that he will pass up the opportunity to spend time so close to him. Too bad for Beau that this may only break his heart and too bad for Payne that he finds out that Beau is just plain irresistible… specially in his gray sweat pants.
This is a very sweet (but oh so spicy), low angst story. I love that Payne is 40 and not a young kid and how “unconventional” Beau is. This is a romance, but most of all this is a story about “being seen”. It’s a story of acceptance and of loving the person as they really are.
This is book #1 in the Divorced Men’s Club series. The club is absolutely hilarious and fun. Their group texts are so funny and I love how supportive they are of each other, without losing a single opportunity to place a bet or take a jibe.
Wonderful story and I am definitely going to pick up the next book in the series.
