The Lost and Found Series #5

We are saying goodbye to Cedar Ridge and I am not okay. Ashes of You, though, is the perfect ending for this series. The Hartleys hold a place in my heart and now we finally get to see Lawson find his HEA.

Lawson is overextended. The loving father of three boys of different ages (16, 13 and 6) is also the Chief of Police and a member of the SARS team and, well, there is only so much one person can do alone. He needs a help.

Enter Hallie, the nanny. She’s perfect for the job. Charlie (the little one) loves her, Drew finds her a “total babe” and Luke (GASP!) tolerates her. And there is a deeper connection between Hallie and Lawson: he saved her life 5 years ago. He never stopped thinking about her and his blue eyes are the first thing that come to her mind when she needs to feel safe. They both have heavy baggage but Hallie “fits” in their little family and soon they are a unit. But the past is lurking, waiting for an opportunity to take Little Minx away from Blue and the kids…

I loved this one so much! Not only their romance is sweet, steamy and swoony, but I loved how Catherine involved the children in the story. Hallie is pivotal in the healing they all needed. They also all behave according to their ages and it’s so hard to find in romance books!

I’m notorious for guessing culprits and this was no different, but I was still biting my nails by the end. An amazing send off for the series!

Narration: Narrated dual style by Ava Erickson and Sebastian York who are perfect in their roles. Ava is able to convey the vulnerability and youth as well as the “badassery” of Hallie with perfection. Sebastian is amazing as the overprotective, sometimes grumpy but ever so swoony Lawson.

Thank you, Catherine, for letting me listen to this one early!

Possible triggers: mentions of abudction, torture, violent crimes, murder, child abandonment, child endangerment
