Cage Reynolds is a grump. Everyone knows – his family, his clients at his veterinary practice, the town. The only lightness in his life is his adorable little girl, Gracie. He’s handsome, has a successful practice…he’s a catch. But no one will catch him. Ever. You see, he gave his heart away to the love of his life when he was 14: Presley Duncan, his “Raven”. They fell in love as kids but life happened, with all its curve balls. Now he has a kid and the kid is his world.

Then Presley comes back to Cottonwood Cove. He has no room in his life for complications and Presley is the only woman with the ability to complicate everything, especially when Gracie falls in love with her too…

Second chance romances are hard to write and Laura Pavlov knocked it out of the park with this one. Usually, we have huge events that break up a couple, but here it was being too young, being apart and jealous, family issues… just, Life. They never not loved each other with all they had, they just didn’t know how to navigate life. Presley’s return to town gives them a chance to “exorcise feelings”, “get it out of their system” as her stay is temporary. But a love like theirs was never meant to be temporary.

I’m OBSESSED with this one! OBSESSED! This is so well written! The story flows, everything is relatable and believable, which makes you root for them so much more.

The whole Reynolds family is very present in this one and the ribbing and the teasing in the group texts (and in person) are hilarious and endearing! I was completely in love with the relationship between Presley and Gracie! And it was the utmost fun to see the grumpy vet turn into a sappy, puppy dog-eyed man.

I’m sad to say goodbye to Cottonwood Cove, but Laura went out with a bang! Thanks for letting me read it early! LOVED IT!

Narration: I had the pleasure to read an early copy ion this book, but when I saw who the narrators were I just had to experience this story again in their voices.

Emma Wilder is perfect as Presley – a woman who knows she has had love before, true love, and lost it. A woman who has to go back to where the love of her life is living the perfect life that they should have had, or so thinks.

Jacob Morgan is amazing as the grumpy yet hilarious single dad who has no room in his heart for anyone other than Gracie, his kid – especially because Preston never vacated it.

Both narrators are phenomenal in this dual narration! A book that was already perfect turned into a masterpiece by this duo. PERFECTION!

Possible triggers: child abandonment, strained relationship with a parent, dealing with an ailing parent, cheating (secondary character)
